Abstract :
Accurate and rapid segmentation is the base of higher level automatic image analysis system. However, the un-uniform background, which comes from the culture board in the imaging process, makes the segmentation process difficult. To decrease this disturbance, based on the max gray-level difference of the background and that of the objects in the images, this paper applies the mean shift algorithm to removing effect from the background and enhancing the contrast of the image based on histogram equalization method. The experimental results from bright-field microscopy image show the efficiency of the method.
