Abstract
Thermal analysis of an induction machine forms an important part of design calculations. This paper presents a distributed parameter thermal model for transient temperature estimation of a TEFC induction motor. The thermal characteristics of a capacitor run single phase induction motor has been simulated using MATLAB and the results have been compared with the experimental results. Though the model has been applied to a single phase induction motor, it is valid for three phase motors also
