Abstract :
As pulmonary nodule scatters everywhere in the initial period of lung diseases and the edges of the pulmonary nodule is irregular, which requires us to seek the pulmonary nodule in the whole lung image and recognize it accurately. The global segmentation is just the advantage of level set method based on Mumford-Shah model, but nobody home and abroad applies it to recognizing the pulmonary nodule. Therefore, this paper first introduces the model in recognizing the pulmonary nodule. It proves that it is feasible to use level set method based on Mumford-Shah model to recognize the pulmonary nodule.
