Abstract :
This work presents a two stage converter to drive high intensity of discharge metal halide lamps (HID-MH). The integration of two boost converters, in an interleaved way, with a full bridge inverter and the use of a square current waveform applied to the lamp results in high power factor and absence of acoustic resonance.
