Trade credit is prevalent in business and plays an important role in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) short-term financing. Based on the sampling survey on the SMEs in Beijing, China, this paper carries out a comprehensive study on the characteristics of SMEs´ trade credit, which include trade credit counterparties, forms, terms and levels. Moreover, the results of empirical analysis corroborate the existence of “Trade Credit Transfer Activity” in SMEs´ business operation. It may provide a new perspective on SMEs´ financing and credit risk management.
