Abstract :
A simulation-based expert system approach to designing power electronic circuits is presented. The system, effectively a computer-aided design (CAD) tool for power converters, helps inexperienced designers to design, simulate and optimize power converter circuits. In the design process, fuzzy logic is used to find an optimum topology. Then the converter is simulated and optimized to meet the designer´s requirements. The features and implementation of the expert system are described in this paper
