Abstract
The inherent relations between a microwave distributed amplifier and an FIR (finite impulse response) digital filter are determined on the basis of digital processing theory. In accordance with these relations, the distributed amplifier can be designed in the time domain and the window function technique can be introduced in the design method. The current widely used distributed amplifier can be synthesized by directly using the rectangular window function. A design example is presented which demonstrates that the proposed design method is simple and effective.<>
