Abstract
New mechatronic scanners realized by electrically excited optic fiber vibrators are considered theoretically and experimentally. A comparison with other types of optic fiber vibrators (excited with piezoelectric elements or magnetic fields) has been carried out. Various applications of such vibrators in read and recognition devices, signal and image converters, and display and recording units are given. Prospects of further research and development of such scanners are discussed
