Abstract :
Domain ontology construction forms the backbone of semantic web technology. This paper presents a hybrid strategy to construct scientific instrument ontology from relational database model. The strategy references both the idea of database schema description ontology (DSDO) and logical database model based ontology construction methods. It shows a higher semantic preservation than related approaches. Application has been made in the "China Education Resource System" (CERII) program.
