Based on the illustration of concepts of modern service industry, we established the index system evaluating comprehensive strength of Chinese modern service industry, and quantitatively analyzed the comprehensive strength of the modern service industry of 31 provinces from China using SPSS software. Our results showed that these provinces in eastern China were stronger than those in central and western China in the term of comprehensive strength of the modern service industry, and there was not obvious difference in the term between provinces from western and central China. The level of economic development was an important factor determining comprehensive strength of the modern service industry of a province. Finally, we give suggestions on polices to improve the comprehensive strength of modern service industry of China.
