Abstract
We assess the performance of transmission systems utilizing electronic predistortion and MLSE equalization. In 11-Gb/s transmission over 1040 km of standard fiber, the required accuracy of the EPD can be relaxed to +/-1400 ps/nm using an 8-state Viterbi algorithm.
