  • Abstract
Electric load profile separation is important in the deregulated environment where competing entities need to assess the load demands based on partial knowledge of the system. We show that independent component analysis (ICA) allows us to estimate the loads using only a small set of active line flow measurements. ICA yields an unbiased statistical description of load behavior which can be explored for analysis, planning and economic purposes
