Abstract :
A prototype automated diagnosis system for a real-world unit under test (UUT) is presented. The system features a time-optimized test sequence with feedback of correctly diagnosed failures and a reduction of effort for test program development and maintenance. The diagnostic strategy used involves associative and model-based diagnosis. The experimental knowledge is organized as a hierarchical rulebase structure according to diagnoses. To model physical knowledge, a technique using logic programming extended by functions is introduced
