Abstract
The distance B.A. in teaching English as a foreign language (LIMSEDILE) at the University of Guadalajara is considered a pioneer in the field of distance teacher training in Mexico. Everyone involved in this new paradigm has been transformed to some extent in our view of the didactics, methods and materials used in teaching learners at a distance. This paper highlights the relevant operational factors that course administrators and e-instructors should consider when wishing to establish and operate a distance learning program. A second important theme would be the impact this type of education has had on the individuals who have completed the B. A. in teaching English at a distance and on society.
