Abstract
The constant revolutions in communication technologies have forever changed how we think about "the office". Company email systems and corporate intranets have expanded the office to include co-workers from various national and cultural backgrounds. This development means that certain cultural factors could affect interoffice communications in international virtual offices (IVOs). This paper overviews certain cultural "problem" areas that can affect communication in this new workplace. The paper also presents tips/strategies and resources that can facilitate effective communication in these IVOs.
