Abstract :
The paper presents a GA based multiobjective optimization of an induction heating applicator for semiconductor processing. Two objectives are imposed: minimization of the power density non-uniformity in the load and maximization of the total absorbed power. The applicator is an improved version of the zone-controlled one proposed in literature, that uses partial or total shielding. A new adaptive ranking scheme is introduced in order to asses the different priorities of the two objectives.
