Abstract :
Slush nitrogen is a two phase combination of solid nitrogen in liquid nitrogen. The measurement of mass flow rate of this mixture can be of interest for various applications due to the greater cooling performance, greater compactness and lighter weight. The development of a prototype of slush nitrogen (two-phase) capacitance type flow meter is presented in this work, together with the technological steps taken toward its fabrication. The flows characteristics of slush nitrogen between the armatures of the obtained flow meter are also numerically investigated using a mathematical model specially build for the tested device.
