Abstract :
This paper presents Life Originated Design (LORD) theory for product conceptual design automation with research of the potential relationship between human and product. Functional surface is employed to express product concept prototype. Using biology growth mechanism for reference, a Life Originated growth design automation process model is established. Life originated design automation technology is introduced in detail. Finally, a prototype system LORD-DARFAD is developed and a product design case study demonstrates the operability and efficiency of the system.
