The Study on the Characteristics of Folk Sports Culture

Folk sports as a special cultural characteristic, which not only has common characteristic of characteristic, but also has basic characteristic of their own culture. This study takes basic characteristic of folk sports culture as point of breakthrough, which studys continuity and expansion, stability and variability, hierarchy and objectivity, and standard and service four typical basic characteristics, and gets the conclusion as follows: (a) Continuity and expansion of folk sports prompt continuity to a type of time-space continuum. (b) Stable society prompts the stability of folk sports culture stronger. (c) stability and variability has become the internal motivation of folk sports culture´s preservation and development. (d) The occurrence of folk sports stems from social productive labour. This study will deepen our appreciation on folk sports culture, and provide reference suggestion on preservation and development of folk sports.
