Abstract :
The authors describe a segment-sector waveguide, a uniform cylindrical waveguide in which the transverse cross section is a segment of a sector. Such a waveguide is useful in the numerical analysis of some aperture coupling structures and may be also of practical value for microwave, millimeter, or submillimeter wave component development. The authors present the first normalized cutoff wavenumbers for TE modes versus the normalized sector angle for different ratios of radii, and versus the ratio of radii for different values of sector angles. The same results are also presented for TM modes.<>
