  • Abstract
    A small sensor of a GMR head for magnetic recording is easily affected by electrostatic discharge (ESD). It was found that a small capacitance device could increase the high voltage and discharge with high peak current when the device is lifted up. It was also found that the GMR head could be designed to reduce ESD risk.
