Abstract :
A detailed algorithm of defect mode of PCFs based on the plane-wave expansion and super cell method is presented, in which the symmetry of the structure of PCFs can be made use of and the computational consuming is reduced. In a specific example for PCFs with a triangular lattice, a defect mode in one of photonic band gaps is successfully obtained.
