Abstract :
This paper presents a contactless method for detecting wet road surfaces by measuring the atmospheric conditions in two points at different heights from the roadway and the road temperature for further road conditions determination through extrapolation. This method uses two temperature-humidity sensors placed one near on the road and the other one on the top of the vehicle and an infrared temperature sensor. Data acquisition and processing was performed using the microcontroller ATMEGA 328.
