Abstract :
A design method for damping controllers is presented which guarantees the system stability for all operating conditions in a prescribed set. The method consists of a multivariable optimisation procedure, which allows the coordinated design of the various PSSs in the power system. Examples illustrate the robustness achieved by the proposed design method and its relationship with conventional PSS design.
