Abstract :
Magnesium is a well-known material for its properties of light weight, high mechanical strength and high thermal conductivity etc. Because of these properties, magnesium has been utilized in several IBM mobile personal computer (PC) housings. In this paper, experimental application of closed loop recycling in PC housing manufacture is introduced discussing comparison in basic material properties, economical aspect and life cycle inventory based on actual observed data in the manufacturing phase. This study indicates the suitability of magnesium for closed loop recycling
