Abstract
Radio navigation system always makes use ground wave for navigation and positioning.. The calculation on ground wave signal field strength is the theoretical basis of the whole system design, which decides the working area, the sensitivity of receiver and the dynamic range of the system. Because ground wave usually transmits over mediums just like sea surface, hill, everglade, which have different dielectric constants, and the transmitting path is complex, so calculation of mixed-path ground wave field strength is very intricate. For the problem of the complex calculation on ground wave transmitting over mixed path, this paper presents an effective method. Based on the method, this paper does a simulation in the different frequency for ground wave attenuation function and field strength. Compared with the measured value, the results of the simulation indicate that this method is effective and can be used in the rapid calculation for engineering.
