Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to present the effect of static load characteristics on the transient stability studies of an electric power system laboratory including induction generators. Digital simulations with test results are compared, considering a squirrel cage induction generator 1 hp, 220 V, 4 poles, 3 phase, 60 Hz for all configurations. The arrangements that were utilized are isolated, infinite bus bar machine and multimachine power systems. Results are presented for a three phase fault in one bus of the arrangement in order to determine the ability of both machines to remain in stability after a large disturbance has occurred.
