Abstract :
The aim of this study is a structured literature review of a computer assisted semen analyzers (CASA) and study the existing methods of finding certain characteristic and parameters of a semen, its density and the morphology of the spermatozoa. The analysis of spermatozoa is an important topic for fertility issues and for assisted reproduction. Spermatozoa analysis plays a vital role in the process of intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in infertile couples. Due to very high cost for CASA technology suggests its use only in laboratories that perform a high number of examinations. Pathologist and microbiologist need a manual cum standard computer assisted, cost effective, more accurate & complete semen analyzer with optimal result, since semen analysis is now a routine checkup for infertile couples. This system also helps for conducting the survey to study the effect of the lifestyle, certain addictions, geographical environment on the semen.
