Abstract
Summary form only given. Issues associated with the design and operation of clinical chemical shift imaging (CSI) protocols on a whole body scanner are discussed. Line volume CSI methods are compared to the echo offset, or Dixon, method. The potential sources of error for the Dixon method are examined. It is noted, however, that line volume CSI artifacts do not have the spatial resolution of conventional imaging, which is a strong argument in favor of the Dixon method
