Abstract
In this paper is presented the environmental and economic effect of losses in a photovoltaic system. For that, the electricity generated of photovoltaic panels depending on the tilting of panels, solar radiation and air temperature are estimated. The losses in cables, the inverter, transformer are determined depending on the configuration, on the electricity generated and on the technical characteristics of these components. For yearly values of losses, the emissions due to losses, value of them and of the energy losses are calculated. Finally, a numerical example for a photovoltaic plant is presented.
