Abstract
For encouraging and supporting the production of electrical energy from renewable energy sources, it was conceived a set of rules which is based on the existence of green certificates and a mandatory quota system. This paper presents an analysis of the impact of the support scheme on the investments in renewable energy sources in Romania. It also presents the evolution of the centralized green certificates market and the contribution of the renewable energy sources for the electricity production of Romania.
