  • Abstract
To fully evaluate the inherent information of magnetic resonance (MR) images, a pulse sequence has been developed to carry out several measurements with different pulse sequence parameters. After the measurement, parameter images are calculated and used to classify tissues and to resynthesize images with optimal contrast, depending on the specific lesion. The classified tissues are color coded. Relevant diagnostic information from a series of 24 images is compressed to one single tissue type image using a transparent color overlay that, superimposed on the gray-level image, allows the evaluation of the morphological structure and the type and extent of the classified tissue areas
