Abstract :
Some results of research developed in the past five years, in the area of antennas, at the CETUC (Center for Studies In Telecommunications of Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro), are presented. Reflector antennas transient analysis has been previously addressed directly in the time domain and a comparative behavior between the implementation of asymptotic ray-optical techniques and that of equivalent induced currents is presented. The use of reflector antennas for omnidirectional coverage in point-to-multipoint services operating in the millimetric wavelength range has been investigated and the main results pertaining to the two antenna configurations explored are reviewed. Theoretical and experimental results of waveguide components designed by application of numerical models developed at CETUC are presented . Finally, a technique for the design of geodesic lenses, with scanning capabilities, excited by an array of feeders with uniform amplitudes is discussed.
