Abstract :
Driven by mobile communication and sensor applications a continuous progress in planar mixer technology could be observed during the past years. Starting with a summary of fundamental mixing theory, the most interesting planar circuit concepts are shown. Nonlinear semiconductor devices and their models are reviewed. The practical design process and some experience with nonlinear analysis are discussed. Results from state of the art mixing circuits are introduced.
