The critical successful factors and strategic development path to IT governance

The in-depth and continuous developments of information infrastructure reinforce the dependence of organizations to information systems. Thus the risks, benefits and opportunities accompany IT make IT governance a crucial part of organization development. In this research, the critical successful factors of IT governance and the corresponding weights are derived by means of the methods developed in the literature, data collection, expert advice and questionnaire. Moreover, the strategic development path is defined via discussion of experts and the changing role of information department is explored. This paper is intended to provide some useful insights for researchers who are interested in the IT governance of government departments.
