Abstract
In the studied micro pump, magnetic micro beads have been used for both pumping and valving purposes. Micro beads, which have been concentrated and actuated magnetically, fill the cross section of the channel of the micro pump. Movement of the magnetic field in any direction causes the micro beads to move in the same direction, so the micro beads can pump the fluid. Current carrying structures have been used to produce a magnetic field. The performance of the micro pump directly depends on the frequency of application of the current to the current carrying structures. In this paper, in order to improve the performance of the micro pump, study of the effect of frequency has been presented. For simulations, COMSOL 3.5a has been used.
