Abstract
Reconstruction algorithms implemented on a high-speed image processor to display computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging data in near real time and allow easy user interaction are discussed. The techniques involved in the generation of two- and three-dimensional data sets as well as their clinical application are examined. The data on over 1600 patients have been reconstructed in an attempt to improve patient management in terms of understanding the pathology present and making clinical decisions such as surgical approach and timing
