Abstract :
Chip Multiprocessors (CMPs) play a central role in current computing platforms. Along with increasing number of cores in CMPs, the optimal allocation of cores and their utilization also deserve our attention. In this work, we present the continuation of our effort towards a better processor allocation process. The Processor Allocator (PA) proposed in our previous work is explored in the context of its best location on the chip. Based on experimental results, the PA´s best assignment in a CMP is discussed and presented.
