Abstract
In this work, a dynamic channel selection and reassignment (DCSR) scheme based on distributed dynamic channel assignment (DCA) is proposed in the cellular mobile system. The proposed scheme can handle three types of constraint: co-channel (CCC), adjacent channel constraint (ACC), and co-site constraint (CSC) simultaneously. The goal is to minimize the number of available channels becoming unavailable for assigning channels to new calls and maximize the number of unavailable channel becoming available for releasing in use channels when calls complete. The proposed scheme is compared with two centralized DCA methods in terms of the blocking rate and average number of available channels. Test results demonstrate that the proposed scheme improved the performance of cellular mobile system effectively.
