Abstract :
A simple and highly-sensitive (-67 dBm) fault monitoring and localization scheme is achieved without modifications to the ONU, by utilizing a low bandwidth (~2 kHz) and low power (~-7 dBm) fault monitor and the high reflectivity mirror of VCSEL transmitters.
