Abstract :
This paper studies the effects of time jitter on the detection performance of an M-sequence based MIMO radar system through time domain simulations. The performance of MIMO radar systems with a non-coherent MIMO, and a coherent re-phased netted radar (RPNR) processing were evaluated in terms of the probability of detection versus signal to noise ratio (SNR). A Gaussian distributed time jitter with a zero-mean and a standard deviation of 1 to 10% of the ideal clock was modeled. It was found that under jitter influence, a 2×2 MIMO radar with MIMO processing performs equally with RPNR at Pd = 0.8 and above.
