The contribution of the forest carbon sink to the reduction of global warming has been well-acknowledged. The calculation method of the forest carbon sink is fundamental and significant for the future work of the forest carbon management and carbon credit trading, etc. The article firstly took the U.S. as an example and intended to review the principal quantifying tools of the forest carbon sink of the U.S. Then the article summarized the feature appeared among the tools which might shed some light for the future research on this issue. In the end of the paper, some suggestion was put forward over the domestic forest carbon sink issue in China.
