Abstract
The implementation of a 3-D image workstation is discussed. The workstation demonstrates the efficiency of octree encoding for handling medical databases and supporting the operations that are important for their widespread use. It provides interactive use together with a high quality display. Methods and components are briefly described, and a clinical example illustrates the main functions
