Abstract :
Microwave imaging (MI) has been widely studied for cancer detection recently. In this technique, either an array or a scanning antenna is used. Employing an array has the advantage of avoiding the mechanical issues of a scanning antenna. Moreover, a scanning antenna is not a practical arrangement for self-examination purposes. However, designing the array still remains an important topic in MI. In this paper, a new array is designed and characterized at 1.2GHz for breast cancer detection and the radiation properties are studied.
