Abstract :
The paper discusses a new method of locating partial discharges (PD) online. An analogue model was built to test and verify the proposed method of location. A single PD site is easily located. When more than one PD site is involved, the PDs are expected to superimpose to produce inaccurate peak locations. The data set for the multiple PD sites were pre-processed using discrete wavelet transforms (DWT) to obtain the individual PD locations.
