Abstract :
This paper analysis the influence of the soil kind and its drying out on the permissible current rating of a 110 kV underground cable line, located in Belgrade area. The analysis is carried out by means of modified mathematical model of IEC Publication 287 and the results of long term test investigations of the local soil thermal behavior along the cable route. The soil around the cables is treated with simplified physical model. It is supposed that the local soil along the cable route consists from two layers with different kinds and diameters of the dried out soil zone around 110 kV single-core cables in trefoil formation.
