Abstract
This paper tries to suggest certain ways in which the two traditionally segregated fields - literary studies and communication skills - can somewhat be integrated. The text with which the paper deals is Robert Browning´s “My Last Duchess,” a poem that lends itself to both literary studies and the study of communication skills. The object of the article is to bridge the gap between the two distinct fields of study by highlighting some aspects of the two fields which are socially relevant.
