Abstract :
This paper presents some new results on the geometry of the reactive load-flow problem. These results have implications in order to assess the system margin to the voltage collapse and to design a secondary voltage control aimed to avoid the voltage collapse. The results are based on certain mathematical and very general properties of the Jacobian matrices of the load-flow equations.
