Abstract :
This work presents performance comparisons and evaluations of six different digital distance relay algorithms. In this work, steady state and transient behavior of the algorithms are evaluated. For this purpose, a digital distance relay is simulated by a digital computer. Different faults have been generated by EMTDC software and fault voltage and current waveforms have been given to the distance relay. Operation of the distance relay has been investigated for different faults and the operation of different algorithms are compared.
