Abstract
This work developed an impulse approach to synchronize the spatiotemporal chaos of two arrays of coupled nonlinear oscillators by choosing adaptive impulse strength matrix and impulse distance. In the first part, the model of impulse synchronization between such spatiotemporal chaotic systems is presented. Then several new conditions with varying impulse distance are obtained to achieve global asymptotical synchronization. The computer simulation results are provided to illustrate the scheme and effectiveness of the proposed synchronization strategy on the coupled chaotic arrays.
